Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) baby carrots
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Place the carrots in a saucepan and add the water.
- Cover and cook over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, until the carrots are just tender.
- Drain any excess water.
- Add the butter, brown sugar, salt, and pepper to the pan.
- Stir continuously over medium heat for 3–5 minutes, until the butter and sugar melt and form a glossy glaze that coats the carrots.
- Serve warm.
Optional Add-Ins
- 1 teaspoon honey for extra sweetness
- A pinch of cinnamon
- Fresh parsley for garnish
