Simple Glazed Carrots

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) baby carrots
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Place the carrots in a saucepan and add the water.
  2. Cover and cook over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, until the carrots are just tender.
  3. Drain any excess water.
  4. Add the butter, brown sugar, salt, and pepper to the pan.
  5. Stir continuously over medium heat for 3–5 minutes, until the butter and sugar melt and form a glossy glaze that coats the carrots.
  6. Serve warm.

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1 teaspoon honey for extra sweetness
  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
