Ingredients:
- 4 large russet potatoes (or your preferred variety)
- 2 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme (or any herbs of your choice, like rosemary or parsley)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Fresh chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Prepare the potatoes:
Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly. Pat them dry.
Slice the potatoes into thin, even rounds (about 1/8 inch thick). You can use a mandoline slicer to get uniform slices if available.
Season the potatoes:
Place the potato slices in a large bowl.
Drizzle with olive oil (or melted butter) and toss to coat the slices evenly.
Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, thyme (or other herbs), salt, and pepper over the potatoes, tossing again to make sure the seasoning is well-distributed.
Arrange on a baking sheet:
Lay the seasoned potato slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure the slices overlap slightly, but do not pile them on top of each other.
Bake:
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and golden brown around the edges. Check them halfway through and flip the slices for even cooking.
Add cheese (optional):
If you’re using Parmesan cheese, sprinkle it over the potatoes about 5 minutes before the baking time is done so it can melt and become golden.
Garnish and serve:
Once baked, remove from the oven and garnish with freshly chopped parsley (if desired).
Serve hot and enjoy!
