Sliced Baked Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold are great options)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or melted butter)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)
  • A sprinkle of sea salt (for finishing)

Instructions

:

  1. Preheat the oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the potatoes:
    • Wash and scrub the potatoes to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a towel.
    • Slice each potato into thin rounds, about 1/4-inch thick. You can leave the skin on for added texture and nutrients, but if you prefer, you can peel the potatoes before slicing.
  3. Season the potatoes:
    • Place the sliced potatoes in a large bowl.
    • Drizzle the olive oil (or melted butter) over the potatoes.
    • Add garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss the slices well to coat them evenly in the oil and seasonings.
  4. Arrange the slices:
    • Lay the seasoned potato slices on a baking sheet in a single layer. You can line the sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking.
  5. Bake the potatoes:
    • Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through, until the potatoes are golden and crispy on the edges.
    • Keep an eye on them during the last few minutes to ensure they don’t over-brown.
  6. Finish and serve:
    • Once baked, remove the potatoes from the oven. If desired, sprinkle them with grated Parmesan cheese while they’re still hot for added flavor.
    • Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and a light sprinkle of sea salt.
  7. Enjoy:
    • Serve immediately as a delicious side dish or snack!
