The most delicious dinner in 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 2 cups cooked rice (preferably leftover rice)
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or a cheese blend)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Beef:
    • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of olive oil.
    • Add the chopped onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
    • Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
    • Season with garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir in the tomato sauce and simmer for 3-4 minutes until everything is well combined.
  2. Assemble the Casserole:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • In a casserole dish (about 9×9 inches or similar size), layer half of the cooked rice on the bottom.
    • Spread half of the cooked beef mixture over the rice.
    • Sprinkle with half of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
    • Repeat the layering process with the remaining rice, beef mixture, and top with the remaining cheese. If you’re using Parmesan, sprinkle it on top of the mozzarella for extra flavor.
  3. Bake:
    • Place the casserole dish in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden on top.
  4. Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let it sit for 5 minutes before serving. Slice into squares and enjoy!
