- 2 lbs (900 g) chicken breast or thighs (boneless and skinless)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Garlic Sauce:
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Wraps:
- 6 large flour tortillas
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Step 1: Cook the Chicken
- Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts (or thighs) with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked through and golden brown on the outside.
- Shred the Chicken: Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. Then, shred it using two forks.
Step 2: Make the Garlic Sauce
- Cook the Garlic: In the same skillet, add the butter and melt it over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Make the Sauce: Add the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Add Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (if using), and season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir well.
- Combine Chicken and Sauce: Add the shredded chicken to the skillet, mixing it with the garlic sauce until the chicken is fully coated and heated through. Remove from heat.
Step 3: Assemble the Wraps
- Prepare the Tortillas: Lay out the flour tortillas on a flat surface.
- Fill the Tortillas: Spoon the cheesy garlic chicken mixture onto each tortilla, dividing it evenly. Top with a generous amount of shredded mozzarella and a little grated Parmesan cheese.
- Roll the Wraps: Carefully roll up each tortilla, folding in the edges as you go, to form a tight wrap.
Step 4: Bake the Wraps
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange the Wraps: Place the wraps in a baking dish or on a baking sheet, seam-side down.
- Bake: Sprinkle a little extra mozzarella cheese on top of each wrap for extra cheese. Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown on top.
Step 5: Serve
- Garnish: Remove the wraps from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
