Seafood:
- 1 lb (450 g) cod fillets, cut into large chunks
- ½ lb (225 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
Creamy Garlic Sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for lighter sauce)
- ½ cup chicken or seafood broth
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
- ½ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)
👩🍳
Instructions
- Season the seafood:
Pat cod and shrimp dry with paper towels. Season both with salt and pepper. - Sear the cod:
Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add cod and sear 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden and almost cooked through. Remove and set aside. - Cook the shrimp:
In the same skillet, add shrimp. Cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside with the cod. - Make the creamy garlic sauce:
Reduce heat to medium. Add 2 tbsp butter and minced garlic; sauté for 30 seconds–1 minute until fragrant (don’t brown it).
Pour in broth and simmer 2–3 minutes to deglaze the pan.
Add cream, Parmesan, paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until smooth and slightly thickened, about 3–4 minutes. - Combine:
Return cod and shrimp to the skillet. Spoon sauce over the seafood.
Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes, until the fish flakes easily and shrimp are fully cooked. - Finish and serve:
Stir in lemon juice and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve hot!
