SUPER Easy Orange Cake

Ingredients

For the Cake

  • 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (200g) sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil
  • ½ cup (120ml) fresh orange juice
  • Zest of 1 large orange
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Optional Glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp fresh orange juice

Instructions

1. Prepare the batter

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) cake pan or line it with parchment.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together:
    • eggs
    • sugar
    • oil
    • orange juice
    • orange zest
    • vanilla
  4. Add flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Stir gently until just combined (do not overmix).

2. Bake

  1. Pour the batter into your prepared pan.
  2. Bake for 25–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  3. Let the cake cool slightly.

3. Add the glaze (optional)

  1. Mix powdered sugar with orange juice until smooth.
  2. Drizzle over the warm cake.

Tips

  • For extra citrus flavor, add more zest or substitute lemon for a mixed citrus cake.
  • You can bake it in a loaf pan—just increase the bake time by 5–10 minutes.
