Golden Garlic Butter Herb

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), softened
  • 5-6 cloves of garlic, minced or grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme or rosemary (or a mix), finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional, for a fresh zing)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a little heat)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Ingredients:
    • Mince or grate the garlic. Chop the fresh herbs finely. If you’re using lemon zest, zest it from one lemon.
  2. Mix the Butter:
    • In a bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped herbs, and lemon zest (if using). Add a pinch of salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes for some heat, if desired.
  3. Combine Well:
    • Stir everything together until the butter is smooth, and all the garlic and herbs are evenly distributed.
  4. Chill (Optional):
    • If you’d like to store this for later, transfer the mixture to a piece of plastic wrap or parchment paper and shape it into a log. Twist the ends of the wrap and refrigerate until firm. You can slice it into rounds when ready to use.
