Ingredients:
- 4 large eggs (room temperature, separated)
- 1 cup (200g) sugar
- ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¾ cup (95g) all-purpose flour
- 2 cups (500 ml) lukewarm milk
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
👩🍳 Instructions:
- Preheat oven
Set oven to 160°C (320°F). Grease a baking dish. - Whip egg whites
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Set aside. - Mix egg yolks & sugar
In another bowl, whisk egg yolks with sugar until pale and creamy. - Add butter & vanilla
Mix in melted butter and vanilla extract. - Add flour
Stir in flour until smooth. - Pour in milk
Gradually add lukewarm milk. The batter will be very thin—this is normal! - Fold egg whites
Gently fold the egg whites into the batter. Don’t fully combine—lumps are okay. - Bake
Pour into the dish and bake for 50–60 minutes until the top is golden brown. - Cool completely
Let it cool before slicing so the layers set properly. - Serve
Dust with powdered sugar and enjoy!
