Banana Pudding Trifle with Chocolate Chips

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (5.1 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
  • 4-5 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 package of vanilla wafer cookies
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pudding:
    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk. Stir until it thickens (about 2 minutes).
    • Add the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract (optional). Mix until fully combined and smooth.
    • Gently fold in the whipped topping until it’s evenly mixed, making a creamy pudding mixture.
  2. Assemble the Trifle:
    • In clear cups or a large trifle dish, start by layering some vanilla wafer cookies at the bottom. You can break some cookies to fit them into the cups.
    • Add a layer of the banana pudding mixture over the cookies.
    • Then, layer some sliced bananas over the pudding.
    • Repeat the layers until the cups are full, ending with a layer of pudding on top.
  3. Top It Off:
    • Once your trifle cups are assembled, top them with more sliced bananas.
    • Sprinkle mini chocolate chips over the top for a sweet, crunchy touch.
    • Optionally, you can add a few extra crushed vanilla wafers on top for texture.
  4. Chill:
    • Refrigerate the banana pudding trifles for at least 2 hours to let the flavors meld together and the layers set.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve chilled, and enjoy a delightful, creamy dessert!

This dessert is quick to prepare, visually impressive, and has a delicious combination of flavors with the bananas, pudding, wafers, and chocolate chips. You can also make it in larger bowls if you prefer!
