Banana Vanilla Pudding Trifle

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 package (12 oz) vanilla wafer cookies
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pudding: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and cold milk. Follow the package instructions, usually about 2 minutes of whisking until the pudding thickens. Let it set for a few minutes.
  2. Layer the Trifle: In a large trifle dish or glass bowl, start with a layer of vanilla wafer cookies on the bottom. Then add a layer of banana slices on top.
  3. Add Pudding: Spoon a layer of the prepared vanilla pudding over the bananas and cookies. Repeat the layers (cookies, bananas, pudding) until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of pudding.
  4. Top with Whipped Cream: Spread the whipped topping on the top layer. You can also add a few extra banana slices or vanilla wafers as a garnish.
  5. Chill: Refrigerate the trifle for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld together and the cookies to soften.
  6. Serve: Scoop out portions and serve chilled. Enjoy the creamy, fruity, and comforting dessert!
