Cheesy Garlic & Herb Pull-Apart Bread

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk (warm)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme (or mixed herbs)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Stir in warm milk and melted butter. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
  3. Let the dough rise: Place the dough back into the bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Allow it to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  4. Shape the dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into small balls (around 12-16). Roll each piece into a ball.
  5. Layer the dough: Grease a loaf pan with olive oil. Layer the dough balls in the pan, slightly overlapping them.
  6. Add flavor: In a small bowl, mix the grated cheese, garlic powder, dried thyme, and parsley. Sprinkle the mixture over the dough balls. You can also drizzle a little melted butter on top.
  7. Second rise: Let the dough rise for an additional 30-40 minutes, or until the dough is puffed and slightly risen.
  8. Bake: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  9. Serve: Let the bread cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your warm, cheesy, garlic-filled goodness!
