Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar (helps activate the yeast)
- 1 liter (4 cups) lukewarm water
Instructions
- Pour the lukewarm water into a container.
- Stir in the sugar until dissolved.
- Add the dry yeast and mix well.
- Let the mixture sit for 1–2 hours to activate.
- Dilute by mixing 1 part yeast solution with 5 parts waterbefore using.
How to Use
- Water the soil around the base of your plants.
- Apply about ½–1 cup for small houseplants or 1–2 cups for larger potted plants.
- Use once every 3–4 weeks during the growing season.
Best For
- Houseplants
- Tomatoes
- Peppers
- Cucumbers
- Roses
- Herbs
- Flowering annuals
Tips
- Use the solution on moist soil, not dry soil.
- Avoid overusing it, as frequent applications can upset the soil’s natural balance.
- Store any leftover mixture in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days and stir before using.
- For the best results, combine this with regular watering, compost, or a balanced plant fertilizer.
Note: There is limited scientific evidence that yeast alone acts as a fertilizer. It is best considered an occasional soil supplement rather than a complete source of plant nutrition.
