Fluffy Golden Pan-Fried Dough Buns

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast
  • ¾ cup warm milk (or water)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let rest 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add egg, oil, salt, then gradually add flour. Mix and knead until soft and smooth.
  3. Cover and let the dough rise for 1 hour (until doubled).
  4. Roll out the dough (about 1–1.5 cm thick) and cut into round discs.
  5. Cover and rest 15 minutes.
  6. Heat oil on medium-low heat and fry the dough discs, flipping until golden on both sides.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
