This homemade honey blend combines lemon, garlic, ginger, cinnamon, and honey into a sweet-and-spicy mixture often used as a comforting home remedy during cold season. While it doesn’t “cure everything,” many people enjoy it for its warming flavor and soothing qualities.
Ingredients
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 whole garlic bulb, cloves peeled
- 1 medium ginger root, sliced
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns (optional)
- 1½ to 2 cups raw honey
Instructions
- Wash and dry the lemon and ginger.
- Slice the lemon and ginger thinly.
- Peel the garlic cloves.
- In a clean glass jar, layer:
- lemon slices
- garlic
- ginger
- cinnamon sticks
- peppercorns
- Pour honey over everything until fully covered.
- Use a spoon to remove air bubbles.
- Seal the jar and let it sit:
- 12–24 hours at room temperature
- then refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
How to Use
- Take 1 spoonful as needed.
- Stir into warm water or tea.
- Some people also add it to hot lemon drinks.
