Garbage Bread

Ingredients

Dough (or use store-bought pizza dough):

  • 1 lb (450g) pizza dough

Filling:

  • 1 cup cooked ground beef or sausage
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese (optional)
  • ½ cup cooked bacon pieces (optional but 🔥)
  • ½ cup sautéed onions
  • ½ cup bell peppers (optional)
  • ¼ cup sliced olives or pickles (optional)
  • 2–3 tbsp pizza sauce or ketchup/mayo mix
  • Salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste

Topping:

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (for top)
  • 1 tbsp parsley (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle.
  3. Spread a thin layer of sauce over the dough.
  4. Add fillings evenly:
    • Meat
    • Veggies
    • Cheese
  5. Roll it up tightly like a log (similar to a jelly roll).
    • Pinch the edges and seams to seal.
  6. Place seam-side down on the tray.
  7. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle cheese on top.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Let rest 5–10 minutes, then slice.

🔥 Tips

  • Don’t overfill or it may burst while baking.
  • Add jalapeños for spice 🌶️
  • Serve with marinara, ranch, or garlic sauce.
  • You can customize it with literally anything in your fridge → hence “garbage bread” 😄
