Jarlsberg Cheese Dip

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Jarlsberg cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • 2–3 tbsp green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: a pinch of paprika or cayenne pepper for a kick

Instructions:

Cold Version (No-bake – great as a spread):

  1. In a medium bowl, combine:
    • Shredded Jarlsberg cheese
    • Mayonnaise
    • Sour cream
    • Green onions
    • Garlic, if using
    • Black pepper (and optional spices)
  2. Mix well until fully blended.
  3. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes for flavors to meld.
  4. Serve cold with:
    • Crackers, sliced baguette, or veggie sticks.

Hot Version (Baked & melty):

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  3. Transfer to a small baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
  4. Bake for 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
  5. Optional: Broil for the last 2–3 minutes for a lightly browned crust.
  6. Serve hot with:
    • Toasted bread, pita chips, or pretzel bites.

  • Add bacon bits or chopped ham for a smoky twist.
  • Mix in caramelized onions for deeper flavor.
  • Stir in a touch of Dijon mustard for tanginess.
