No Knead Beer Bread

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 bottle (12 oz) of beer (any type, but a lighter beer like lager or pale ale works best)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary (or any other herb you prefer)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the beer: Pour in the beer and stir with a wooden spoon or spatula until just combined. The dough will be thick, but don’t overmix it. The beer does all the work, so no kneading is necessary!
  4. Add optional herbs: If you want to add fresh herbs, fold in the rosemary or any herbs you prefer. This step is optional but adds great flavor!
  5. Transfer to the pan: Pour the dough into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Add melted butter: Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the bread dough. This will help the bread develop a golden, crispy crust as it bakes.
  7. Bake the bread: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool and serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy with butter or alongside soups, stews, or your favorite dishes.

Tips:

  • Beer flavor: The type of beer you use can slightly alter the taste of the bread, but any beer will work! A darker beer will give the bread a richer flavor, while a lighter beer will give it a milder, more neutral flavor.
  • Add-ins: Feel free to experiment with add-ins like shredded cheese, garlic, or even nuts for different flavor variations.
