Ingredients

 (Serves 2-3)

  • 4 cups low-sodium vegetable broth (or chicken broth for added protein)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh oregano leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme (optional, for added immunity support)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lemon (plus zest, optional)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional for warmth)
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric (optional anti-inflammatory boost)

🍳

Instructions

  1. Sauté Aromatics
In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  2. Add Broth & Herbs
Pour in the broth and bring to a gentle simmer. Add oregano, thyme (if using), turmeric, and red pepper flakes. Let simmer for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Finish with Lemon
Remove from heat. Stir in fresh lemon juice and zest. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Strain (Optional)
For a clear sipping broth, strain before serving. Otherwise, serve as-is with the herbs and aromatics.
