Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls: The Ultimate Game Day & Party Sensation

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ribeye steak or steak of your choice, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, finely chopped (optional, depending on your preference)
  • 2 cups provolone cheese (or American cheese, if preferred), shredded
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions:

1.

Prepare the Steak:

  • Thinly slice the ribeye steak into small strips or bite-sized pieces. You can freeze the steak for about 30 minutes to make slicing easier.
  • Season the steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

2.

Cook the Steak:

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the sliced steak and cook until browned and fully cooked through (about 4-5 minutes). Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.

3.

Sauté the Veggies:

  • In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if necessary, and sauté the onions (and bell pepper if using) until they become soft and slightly caramelized (about 5-7 minutes).
  • Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

4.

Combine Steak and Veggies:

  • Add the cooked steak back into the skillet with the onions and bell peppers. Pour in the soy sauce and cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine.

5.

Assemble the Egg Rolls:

  • Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean, flat surface. Spoon a portion of the steak and veggie mixture onto the center of the wrapper, then top with some shredded cheese.
  • Carefully fold in the sides of the wrapper, then roll it up tightly, sealing the edge with a little water.

6.

Fry the Egg Rolls:

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer over medium heat (about 350°F).
  • Carefully place the egg rolls into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the egg rolls and drain on paper towels.

7.

Serve:

  • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, like ranch, ketchup, or a cheese dipping sauce.

Tips:

  • Make Ahead: You can prepare and assemble the egg rolls in advance, storing them in the refrigerator for a few hours before frying. This can be a time-saver when you’re hosting.
  • Baking Option: If you want a lighter version, you can bake these egg rolls instead. Brush them with a little oil and bake at 400°F for about 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Cheese Variations: If you prefer a different flavor, you can experiment with other cheeses like mozzarella or cheddar.

These Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls are a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, full of delicious flavors and textures that will keep everyone coming back for more! Enjoy!
