Dough Ingredients
- 3 ¾ cups (470g) all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup (50g) sugar
- 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) instant yeast
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup (180ml) warm milk (not hot)
- ¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
🍯 Filling
- ½ cup (100g) brown sugar
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- ⅓ cup (75g) softened butter
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
🍰 Cream Cheese Frosting
- 4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- ¾ cup (90g) powdered sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1–2 tbsp milk (for consistency)
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Make the Dough
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 8–10 minutes until soft and elastic.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours (until doubled).
2. Roll & Fill
- Roll dough into a large rectangle (~¼ inch thick).
- Spread softened butter evenly.
- Sprinkle brown sugar + cinnamon mixture.
- Add chopped walnuts.
3. Shape
- Roll tightly into a log (like in your image).
- Slice into 9–12 equal pieces.
- Place in a greased baking dish.
4. Second Rise
- Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
5. Bake
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden.
6. Make Frosting
- Beat cream cheese + butter until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk.
- Mix until creamy.
7. Finish
- Spread frosting over warm rolls so it melts slightly 😍
🔥 Tips for Extra Soft Rolls
- Don’t overheat the milk (it kills yeast)
- Dough should be slightly sticky, not dry
- Let them cool just a bit before frosting (not fully)
