Ingredients
- 1 large head green cabbage, cut into 6–8 wedges
- 8 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Cook the bacon in a skillet until lightly crisp. Reserve a little of the bacon fat if desired.
- Arrange the cabbage wedges in the slow cooker.
- Sprinkle with garlic powder and top with the cooked bacon.
- Pour the chicken broth around the cabbage.
- Cover and cook:
- Low: 5–6 hours, or
- High: 2½–3 hours
- Serve with the cooking juices spooned over the top.
Tips
- Add black pepper to taste.
- For extra flavor, use smoked bacon.
- Serve alongside roasted potatoes, sausage, or crusty bread.
