Ingredients:
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme or rosemary (optional)
For Honey Butter Sauce:
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) of unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of paprika (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon of parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prep the Chicken Thighs:
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to ensure crispy skin.
- Rub both sides of the chicken thighs with olive oil.
- Season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and thyme or rosemary.
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
- Cook the Chicken Thighs:
- Place the chicken thighs in the air fryer basket, skin-side down.
- Cook for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time to ensure even crispiness.
- Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Make the Honey Butter Sauce:
- While the chicken is cooking, prepare the honey butter sauce.
- In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, honey, garlic powder, paprika, and parsley. Stir until well combined.
- Coat the Chicken:
- Once the chicken thighs are cooked and crispy, remove them from the air fryer.
- Brush the honey butter mixture generously over the chicken thighs, making sure to coat each piece.
- Serve:
- Serve the chicken thighs hot, garnished with extra parsley or herbs if desired. You can pair them with your favorite side dishes like mashed potatoes, rice, or a simple salad.
Tips:
- For extra crispy skin, make sure the chicken is patted dry before seasoning.
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey based on your preference.
- If you like a bit of heat, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the honey butter sauce.
