Air fryer chicken thighs

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme or rosemary (optional)

For Honey Butter Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) of unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Chicken Thighs:
    • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to ensure crispy skin.
    • Rub both sides of the chicken thighs with olive oil.
    • Season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and thyme or rosemary.
  2. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Cook the Chicken Thighs:
    • Place the chicken thighs in the air fryer basket, skin-side down.
    • Cook for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time to ensure even crispiness.
    • Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
  4. Make the Honey Butter Sauce:
    • While the chicken is cooking, prepare the honey butter sauce.
    • In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, honey, garlic powder, paprika, and parsley. Stir until well combined.
  5. Coat the Chicken:
    • Once the chicken thighs are cooked and crispy, remove them from the air fryer.
    • Brush the honey butter mixture generously over the chicken thighs, making sure to coat each piece.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve the chicken thighs hot, garnished with extra parsley or herbs if desired. You can pair them with your favorite side dishes like mashed potatoes, rice, or a simple salad.

Tips:

  • For extra crispy skin, make sure the chicken is patted dry before seasoning.
  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey based on your preference.
  • If you like a bit of heat, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the honey butter sauce.
