Baked Parmesan Potato Fries

Ingredients:

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the Potatoes:
    • Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin fries. Try to make them as even as possible so they cook uniformly.
    • Place the fries in a large bowl and soak them in water for about 30 minutes to remove excess starch (this will help them get crispier when baked).
  3. Coat the Fries:
    • After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry with a clean towel.
    • Add the olive oil, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper to the fries. Toss them until they’re evenly coated with the oil and seasonings.
  4. Bake the Fries:
    • Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they’re not overlapping for even baking.
    • Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through, until they’re golden brown and crispy.
  5. Garnish and Serve:
    • Once baked, remove the fries from the oven. Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
