For the Cake:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
For the Cinnamon Swirl:
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
For the Glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1-2 tbsp milk
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
- Prepare Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter. Set aside.
- Make the Cake Batter:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Assemble the Loaf:
- Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Spoon half of the cinnamon swirl mixture over the batter and gently swirl with a knife or spoon.
- Add the remaining cake batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon swirl mixture. Swirl again.
- Bake: Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Prepare the Glaze: While the cake is cooling, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to form a smooth glaze.
- Cool & Glaze: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled loaf.
