Deep-Fried Marshmallows – A Gooey, Golden Treat

Ingredients:

  • Large marshmallows (as many as you’d like)
  • 1 cup pancake mix or all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk (adjust as needed)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional, for a sweeter batter)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Oil for deep frying (vegetable or canola oil)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Optional toppings: chocolate sauce, whipped cream, or caramel

🧑‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Prepare the batter:
In a bowl, mix pancake mix (or flour), milk, egg, sugar, and vanilla extract until you have a smooth, thick batter. It should coat the marshmallows well — not too runny.
  2. Heat the oil:
Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350–375°F (175–190°C).
  3. Dip & fry:
Dip each marshmallow fully into the batter, coating evenly.
Carefully place into the hot oil (use a spoon or tongs). Fry 3–5 at a time until golden brown — about 15–30 seconds per side.
  4. Drain & dust:
Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Dust with powdered sugar while still warm.
  5. Serve:
Stack them up and serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for the full effect!
