Potato-Stuffed Fried Dough Bites

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the filling:

  • 3 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: grated cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)

For frying:

  • Oil for deep frying

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make the dough

  • In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  • Add warm water and olive oil.
  • Knead until smooth and soft (about 8–10 minutes).
  • Cover and let rise for 1 hour (until doubled in size).

2. Prepare the filling

  • In a pan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  • Add mashed potatoes, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix well and let cool.
  • (Optional: mix in cheese for extra flavor)

3. Assemble

  • Roll out the dough into a thin sheet.
  • Cut into small squares.
  • Place a small spoon of filling in the center of each.
  • Fold or seal edges (or sandwich with another square).

4. Fry

  • Heat oil over medium heat.
  • Fry in batches until golden brown and crispy (2–3 minutes per side).
  • Remove and drain on paper towels.

  • Sprinkle with extra parsley or grated cheese
  • Serve with garlic sauce, yogurt dip, or spicy ketchup
  • Best enjoyed hot and crispy!
