Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 small head cabbage, chopped
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 medium potatoes, diced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Brown the meat
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
- Drain excess fat.
- Add ingredients to slow cooker
- Place chopped cabbage in the slow cooker.
- Add cooked beef, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, potatoes, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and broth.
- Season
- Add Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Cook
- Low: 6–7 hours
- High: 3–4 hours
- Serve
- Stir well before serving.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Optional Add-Ins
- 1 cup green beans
- ½ cup rice or barley
- Red pepper flakes for heat
